BASINGSTOKE Labour Club and DJS Telecoms both booked their places in the Hampshire A Cup last Saturday, writes PETER RAYNBIRD.

The Labour Club beat visiting Brading Town Reserves 3-1 and never looked back after leading marksman Cameron George scored after 25 minutes.

The Islanders levelled, but Matt Kelly gave the home side the lead before the break.

A corner from Mark Thorpe, saw a Kelly header increase the lead and George also hit the bar.

DJS Telecoms had an easy 7-1 victory over another island side Sandown Reserves at Silchester Common.

They were soon off the mark as Ashley Elward scored twice by the eighth minute. Sandown opened their account, but trailed 6-1 at the break, after further goals from Jason Freathey (penalty), Chris Payne, Allan Morgan and Lee Neal.

Dan Deadman chipped the 63-year-old Sandown goalkeeper for goal number seven and after that he made four one-on-one saves.

In the Hants B Cup, Tron FC and Winklebury Wizards both went into the third round as their opponents were unable to raise a side.

Tadley Calleva A move through to the last eight of the North Hants May Cup, after beating Andover League opponents Kingsclere 4-3 at Barlow’s Park.

Having gone a goal down, Tadley replied and led 4-1 by half-time as Simon Penfold scored twice along with Lee Calcott and Ben Todd.

Kingsclere had more of the game after this and scored twice, but were unable to force extra time.

Hook and TwentyTen had a battle at Preston Candover where it ended 1-1 at 90 minutes and Hook won through 4-2 after a penalty shoot-out .

TwentyTen's Joe Hill scored a penalty in the first-half, before an own goal levelled things. Hook's successful marksman in the shoot-out were Peter Silvester, Dave Mellors, Aaron King and Andy Parker.

Both Overton United A and B teams are through. The A team beat AFC Aldermaston A 3-1, as Terry Lock scored their opening two goals.

Aldermaston pulled a goal back from Kevin Flain, but Overton made the game safe thanks to Phil Eves.

Overton United B enjoyed a surprising 5-1 win at Bounty United, after they raced into a 2-0 lead after 15 minutes as Rob Perrett and Paul Eldridge both netted.

Mitchell Stokes replied for Bounty by half time, but Overton regained their two goal advantage when Perrett scored again.

Bounty goalkeeper Symon Duszynski was sent off for bringing down Perritt and sub John Spencer took over, and penalty taker John Holder fired wide.

However, after this Perrett completed his hat trick and Holder netted their fifth.
