OVERTON United A bottom of the Saturday and District League Division One, enjoyed their trip to second placed Hampshire Irons as they won 4-3.

Nathan Rae was their match winner, scoring twice including the winner six minutes from time.

Rae and Joe Lake shot chances wide early in the game and then on the 22 minute mark, Syvane Thomas, making his first appearance of the season, headed home a corner from Rae.

Irons drew level when Craig Hopper finished well following a good ball from Kieran Dent. The home side remained on top and went 2-1 up after 50 minutes through Alex Brown.

The Irons were then caught on the break by Lake and this led to Rae rounding goalkeeper Jack Rickard to level.

Overton pressed and a 20-yard shot from Darryl Taylor deflected past Rickard to see them 3-2 up.

The home side drew level again, as a free-kick taken by Ben Hasking was parried by goalkeeper Ben Pierce and Gavin Curry followed up to net.

The winner came a minute later, as Ben Wootton found Rae with a superb 30-yard pass and he made no mistake with his finish.

The Irons almost snatched a point in the 90th minute, when a long throw from Curry found the head of Dent, but his effort flew just over the bar.
