HOOK recovered from three goals down to beat Tadley Calleva A in a nine-goal thriller.

Kyle Theodore opened the scoring in the Basingstoke and District Saturday League Division One fixture, scoring from the penalty spot. The same player doubled the Tadley lead from a Luke Allison cross, with Michael Abbott making it 3-0 with just 33 minutes on the clock.

Peter White was inches away from adding a fourth, hitting the post, but Hook hit back with two goals before half-time, Charlie Page scoring from a Dave White corner and Aaron King netting from the penalty spot.

Jon Noakes' own-goal seemed to have Tadley back in control just before the hour, but Hook scored three times in the last 12 minutes to steal all three points.

White created all three, crossing for first Dan Mellors, then Jack McKee and finally King to head home.

Nine more goals went in as visiting Basingstoke Athletic won 5-4 at DJS Telecoms.

Athletic began the game with 10 men and were soon down to nine through injury, but it was 2-2 at the break. Ash Elward and Louis Vickery both had DJS in front, but Dale Bristow and then Kieran Challis levelled for the visitors.

Athletic were back to a full complement of players after half-time and took the lead through Matt Button, with Tobie Hyde and Bristow extending the advantage to 5-2.

Vickery and Harry Rudge got DJS back in with a shout, but the visitors held on to win.

Cameron George scored all four goals as Basingstoke Labour Club won 4-0 away at Overton United A.

Mark Thorpe provided the cross for George to give the visitors a first-half lead. He got his second from the penalty spot before completing his hat-trick from Josh Bundock's pass and adding a fourth with a deflected shot.

In Division Two, Bounty United were too strong for Basingstoke Athletic Reserves, winning 6-2.

Matt King opened the scoring and Pawal Derpot doubled the lead soon after. Matt Stillwell pulled one back for Athletic, but Mitchell Stokes scored twice and Andy Darmody also found the net to put Bounty 5-1 ahead at the break.

Derpot's second extended the lead after the break, before Stillwell netted a consolation for Athletic.

Overton United B retained second spot in the table after beating Winklebury Wizards 1-0, Rob Perrett netting the winner with 15 minutes to play, scoring on the rebound after his initial effort had been saved. Ben Clarke was inches away from levelling, hitting the post.

Hook Reserves could not raise enough players to play AFC Berg.

  • Overton United B have been ordered to replay their game against AFC Berg after it emerged that their fielded an ineligible player in their 7-2 win. Bounty and TDI Group have both been docked a point for the same offence.
