WHEATSHEAF consolidated their position at the top of Basingstoke and District Sunday League Division One with a 5-2 victory over Dayer's Fine Foods.

Finley Hall, Carlos Gonzalez, Harry Rudge, Ollie Knox and Ashley Elward all found the net for the winners, with Christian Cox and Joe Hill replying for Dayer's.

Frederick Cloke gave Soldiers Return an early lead from a corner in their game against Oakley, but Myles Englefield replied for Oakley soon after, clipping a neat shot over the goalkeeper.

Jamie Galpin's deflected shot had Soldiers back ahead, while Cloke's second of the game made it 3-1 at half-time.

Soldiers had a man sent off after the break, but Oakley were unable to score from the resulting penalty. They did pull a goal back from a corner, Bradley Archer finding the net, but they ended the game with nine men and lost 3-2.

There were no goals on the first half of the game between Tron and FC Everest, but Luke Richardson broke the deadlock on 55 minutes, putting Everest ahead. Tron levelled on 75 minutes, James Tarrant setting up Dave Parry, and they grabbed a winner with six minutes to play, Michael Morey and Tarrant combining to create the chance for Ross Soper-Dyer.

Basingstoke Saints took an early lead in their game against Republic of Chineham, Matthew Cuthbertson setting up Liam James, but the visitors hit back with three goals.

Adam Butler's penalty made it 3-2 at half-time and the same player converted another spot-kick after the break, but Chineham were out of sight by that point and won 6-3. Ben Nicholls hit a hat-trick for Republic, while Wayne Finn bagged a brace and Mitchell Stokes also found the net.

Basingstoke Royals crashed out of the Hampshire Sunday Senior Cup, losing 2-1 at home to Alexandra.

Affini Technology won the battle of Division Two's unbeaten teams, recording a 3-1 victory over Revolution.

David Weatherhead scored twice for Affini, with Nick Jupp getting the other goal as the hosts leapfrogged Revolution to go top of the table.

Goals from Chris Arnold and Terry Lock gave Hampshire Irons a 2-1 win over Chineham, for whom Kieran Alleyne found the net.

Bramley United led 2-0 at half-time and 3-0 in the second half of their trip to North Warnborough, but the hosts found a way back into the game, claiming a 3-3 draw.

UWS and Team also shared the points, drawing 2-2.

North Warnborough Reserves' excellent start to the Division Three season continued as they beat Soldiers Return Reserves 7-1.

Sean Delfosse scored four goals for the visitors, with Ryan Pilley, Jay Gibson and Sam Wilson also finding the net. Dan Southgate scored Soldiers' lone reply with a stunning effort from 30 yards.

Camrose Social made it three wins out of three with a 5-2 victory away at Chineham Reserves.

Aaron Burt bagged a brace for Camrose, with Chris Waller, Jamie Coales and Robin Smith their other scorers. Serge Holland got both of the Chineham goals.

FC Benidorm of Stoke's great start to life in the league continued as they beat DG Athletic 6-2. Taylor Watts scored five goals, with Adam Bowden adding the sixth from long range. James Brown scored two penalties for DG.
