FC BASING made a strong start to life in Basingstoke and District Sunday League Division One, beating Republic of Chineham 7-3.

Matthew Osborne and Alex Bullen both netted twice for the winners, with Richard Gary and Daniel Belcher also finding the net, writes Tony Spencer.

Basingstoke Royals began life in the Sunday section with a 1-1 draw against reigning champions Soldiers Return. Spencer Champ gave Soldiers the lead, but Stuart Urquhart earned Royals a point.

Basingstoke Saints took the lead against Oakley, Adam Butler finding the net from Ryan Sawyer's cross. However, Jack Mckinnon and Samie Aldoori had Oakley ahead at the break and Matt Bonner made it 3-1 in the second half.

Joe Osborne gave Dayer's Fine Foods the lead away at Tron, but David Parry levelled, while further goals from Siyani Thomas and Parry had Tron 3-1 up at the break.

Thomas got his second goal of the game after the break, while Richard McCoubrie's strike completed a 5-1 win.

FC Everest led 2-0 at the break away at Wheatsheaf, but a Carlos Gonzalez hat-trick, which included two penalties, helped the hosts to a 4-2 win, with Alex Lipscombe also on the scoresheet.

In Division Two, goals from David Wallace, Adam Hill and Stuart Leddy saw Bramley United to a 3-0 win over UWS, while Affini Technology beat Team FC 7-2.

Newly-promoted Eastrop Eagles lost 3-0 at home to Hampshire Irons thanks to goals from Stephen Bown, Michael Pemberton and Sean Searle, while fellow newcomers Revolution beat North Warnborough by the same scoreline.

AFC Golden Lion, who finished bottom of Division Three last season, have been rebranded as Camrose Social and began the new campaign with a 4-1 win over Chineham Athletic.

Tony Pendlebury bagged a brace, while Chris Waller and Aaron Burt also netted for Camrose. Steve Hartwell converted a spot kick for Chineham Athletic.

Chineham Reserves got the better of visiting Soldiers Return Reserves, winning 5-2. Ellesio Stait scored twice for the winners, with Robert Stait, Ryan Oates and Tyler Andrews also finding the net. Daniel Grimes chalked up both Soldiers Return's replies.

North Warnborough Reserves beat new club FC Benidorm of Stoke 4-0.

Joseph Hayman netted a perfect hat-trick in the first half, scoring the first with his left foot, the second with his right and completing his treble with a header.

The second half was a much more even contest, with Dean Frost slotting in a well-taken goal for Warnborough.
