SOLDIERS Return suffered heartbreak right at the end of their Basingstoke Kelvin Cup semi-final against Barton Stacey on Sunday.

Visiting Barton Stacey led by a single goal at the break, but Ben Allnutt levelled for Soldiers Return. The match looked to be heading for extra-time, but the Andover team scored with the last kick of the game to reach the final, where they will meet Republic of Chineham, who beat AFC Wolversdene 1-0 in the other last-four encounter.

There was more cup disappointment for FC Everest, who went down 4-1 to Broughton in the final of the North Hants Chris Price Cup at Andover New Street.

Lamb Inn won the only game played in Basingstoke and District Sunday League Division One, beating hosts Kaiser Wessex 5-2.

Chineham romped to a 10-0 win over Oakley Reserves in Division Two, with Kirk Smith and Finlay Thompson both hitting hat-tricks. Jesse Harvey, Shane West, Dan Greenwood and Kieron Alleyne also found the net.

There was a ding-dong battle between North Warnborough II and Hampshire Irons, with visiting Warnborough winning by the odd goal in nine.

John Urquhart put Warn-borough ahead and while Irons levelled, further goals from Jason Williams and Andy Parker had the visitors 3-1 up at half-time.

Irons pulled level with two goals early in the second half, but Williams got his second of the game and Malcolm Rogers made it 5-3. Irons managed to score a fourth in the final minute, but there was no time for an equaliser.

Team FC are assured of at least second place in Division Three after winning 6-1 at DG Athletic. Grant Good got DG’s lone goal.

Joe Marsh bagged a brace, with Kyle Buckland and Serge Holland also finding the net as Chineham Reserves won 4-1 at AFC Golden Lion. Aaron Burt was the Golden Lion scorer.

Chineham Athletic scored twice in each half to beat Soldiers Return Reserves 4-0.

Joe Richardson found the net direct from a corner to open the scoring on the half-hour, with Rueben Monterio doubling the lead just before half-time. Soldiers pressed forward in the second half, but Chineham hit them on the break, Ben Owen scoring twice.
