TRON suffered penalty shoot-out heartbreak in the final of the North Hants Senior Cup on Sunday.

The match was played at the home of Andover New Street, with Tron taking on Arms Athletic. The sides could not be separated in 90 minutes or extra-time, the match ending 2-2, and it was Arms who won the shoot-out 4-3.

FC Everest are through to the final of the Bernard Cornish Cup after a comfortable 6-0 win over Soldiers Return Reserves in the last four.

The hosts got off to the perfect start, converting a penalty awarded after just 30 seconds, and they scored a second soon after. Four more goals followed in the second half, with Alex Spencer netting twice and Jay Perryman also among the Everest scorers.

Team FC will face Everest in the final after beating New Inn 4-3.

Rotherwick made their exit from the John Ward Cup, losing 4-2 to visiting AFC Gecko. Ryan Williams and youngster Sam Taylor were the Rotherwick scorers, while the margin of defeat would have been more were it not for goalkeeper Alex Waterfield.

Soldiers Return gave their Basingstoke and District Sunday League Division One title hopes a shot in the arm by beating leaders Republic of Chineham 4-1.

Jamie Galpin gave Soldiers Return the lead after 20 minutes and Andrew Butler made it 2-0 before half-time. Alex Izzo made it 3-0 after the break and while Matt Bennett pulled one back for Chineham from the penalty spot, Butler’s second goal of the game completed victory.

Republic of Chineham still have a strong lead at the top of the table, but Soldiers Return are now in with a chance, having won seven games in a row.

Lamb Inn beat Dayer’s Fine Foods 2-0 in the only other Division One game.

Ryan Thorpe hit seven goals as North Warnborough II romped to an 11-0 win at RAF Odiham Blades in Division Two. Andy Parker bagged a brace, while Trevor Rogers was also on the scoresheet.

UWS claimed an emphatic 8-1 win away at Oakley Reserves.

Eastrop Eagles are just one point away from securing the Division Three title after beating DG Athletic 4-0.

Ben Owen hit a hat-trick as Chineham Athletic won 5-2 at Chineham Reserves. Dale Hooper and Julian Alarta also found the net for Athletic, while Peter Hooska and Simon States replied.
