ROSS Cook hit a hat-trick as Tron claimed a place in the North Hants Senior Cup Final on Sunday.

FC Central were Tron’s opposition in the last four. They struggled to contain Cook, with Dave Parry also finding the net as Tron won the game 4-2.

Rotherwick won through to the semi-finals of the North Hants John Ward Cup with a 5-0 win over visiting DG Athletic. The game was closer than the scoreline suggests, but Chris Sawkins’ brace and further goals from Ben Squibb, Kristian Tolbot and James Neil saw Rotherwick through.

Soldiers Return gained revenge for two defeats to Lamb Inn earlier in the season, hammering their hosts 6-1 in Basingstoke and District Sunday League Division One.

Two goals from Andrew Butler had Soldiers in charge and while Lamb were able to reduce the deficit, Ellis Hauman’s strike made it 3-1 at the break. Alex Izzo and Jamie Gulpin extended the lead after the break, with Butler’s hat-trick strike completing the scoring.

Dayer’s Fine Foods claimed their first away win of the season thanks to a late strike from Alex Brown.

Their trip to South View looked set to end goalless, but the hosts lost goalkeeper Sean O’Brien to injury with 20 minutes to go and Brown’s shot from distance took a wicked deflection to beat the stand-in ’keeper.

Stewart Jarvis found the net four times as UWS won 5-2 away at Chineham in Division Two. Lee Head got the other UWS goal, while Finley Thompson and Kieron Alleyne were the Chineham scorers.

Hampshire Irons edged a nine-goal thriller against visiting New Inn 5-4, condemning the away side to their first defeat in nine outings.

There were seven more goals in the game between Oakley Reserves and RAF Odiham Blades, Oakley winning 4-3.

Soldiers Return Reserves won 3-1 at title-chasing Team FC in the only Division Three game to go ahead.

Mickie Thomas’ goal had Team ahead at the break, but Joe Allnutt levelled in the opening minute of the second half. Team went in search of goals but were hit on the break, with Lewis Judd putting Soldiers ahead and Shane Brewer doubling the lead with an extravagant lob five minutes from time.

The game ended on a sour note, with Soldiers’ Jamie Buckland carried off following a horrific challenge, for which the Team player responsible was shown a red card.
