KAISER Wessex ended a run of six games without a win by beating Basingstoke Saints for the second time this season.
The visitors won their Basingstoke and District Sunday League Division One game at Saints 5-2, with Andrew Gethin finding the net four times. One of them was a peach of a goal as he controlled a ball over the top perfectly before smashing it into the top corner.
Marvin White got Wessex’s fifth goal with an unstoppable volley from the edge of the area, while Rick Pike got both of the Saints goals.
League leaders Lamb Inn will be looking over their shoulders after being well beaten by Tron, who are up to second as a result of their 4-0 victory.
Dave Parry scored twice for Lamb Inn, with Ross Soper-Dyer and Jesse Todd also finding the net as Tron claimed a fifth successive victory.
In Division Three, bottom side DG Athletic hosted leaders Eastrop Eagles, with the table-toppers claiming a narrow 3-2 victory to make it four wins in a row.
Paul Adams, Nathan Bennis and Bobby Frost got Eastrop’s goals, with Liam Rump and Matt Leroyd replying for DG.
