WELLY Old Boys manager Graham Jenkins hit out at his side’s lack of commitment as they made their exit from the Hampshire A Cup with an 18-0 defeat away at Sherborne St John.

Alex Izzo and Tom Brickley both scored four goals for Sherborne, while Tobi Judd hit a hat-trick. Dan Hamlin and Spencer Champ both netted twice, while singles for Jarid Moore and Sachin Rai and an own-goal completed the scoring.

Jenkins said: “We had 13 players this week but when things went wrong and goals began to come thick and fast, three of them had enough and walked off, leaving us with 10 to finish the game.”

This season has been a real struggle for Welly, but Jenkins is determined to carry on, despite Saturday’s events.

Bramley United needed a penalty shoot-out to see off Southampton outfit Warsash Wasps. United were two goals down early in the second half, but goals from Les Woods and Stuart Leddy levelled the game.

Bramley converted all five of their penalties in the shoot-out, Sam Cato, Arron Burt, Leddy, Simon Goff and Ben Squibb all finding the net, while goalkeeper Jake Lear saved Warsash’s fourth kick.

Rising Sun DC also enjoyed a win on penalties, beating Bournemouth Manor Reserves 4-3 in a shoot-out. Former Basingstoke Town defender Adam Aimable put Rising Sun ahead on the hour and while Ben Nicholls missed a penalty, he made amends by doubling the lead with 15 minutes to go.

Manor scored twice in the closing stages to draw level, but Torren Kirrage made two good saves to send Rising Sun through in the shoot-out, with Lee Chambers, Aimable, Lorne Howard and Jon Richardson all converting their kicks.

Tadley Calleva A were beaten 3-1 on penalties after a 3-3 draw with Ryde Saints on the Isle of Wight.

Basingstoke and District Saturday League Premier Division leaders Hook emerged as 3-1 winners from their tie against Reading League outfit Baughurst AFC.

Hook took the lead from an own-goal, but Tim Hearson then put the ball through his own net to level the scores. Andy Parker restored Hook’s advantage and Tom Davies put the game to bed with the third.

Hampshire Irons claimed a 2-0 victory away at Isle of Wight outfit Brading Reserves. James Arnold had them ahead in the first half and Chris Dobbie made the game safe with 15 minutes to play.

Overton United A went down 4-2 away at Rushmoor Community. Nathan Bennis gave Overton the lead twice, but Rushmoor levelled on both occasions and ended up comfortable winners.

TwentyTen enjoyed a 4-3 victory over Andover League outfit Sutton Scotney. Joe Hill had TwentyTen ahead after three minutes and the same player doubled the lead towards the end of the first half.

Scotney pulled one back just before half-time but Jake Tanner’s free-kick made it 3-1. The visitors reduced the deficit again almost straight away and while Gordon Wainwright restored the two-goal advantage, Scotney set up a nervous finale with their third goal.

Hook Reserves beat Isle of Wight visitors Binstead and Cob Reserves 3-0. Jamie Foot scored the first from a free kick before the break, with Jack McKee and an own-goal completing the scoring in the second half.

North Warnborough 2014 were beaten 3-0 by Isle of Wight visitors Whitecroft and Barton Reserves.
