THERE was a major surprise in the Basingstoke and District Saturday League Premier Division, Bramley United claiming revenge over Rising Sun DC with a 5-1 win.

Bramley had lost the reverse fixture by the same scoreline on the opening day of the season but there was to be no repeat and they took the lead after 10 minutes, Sam Cato heading home from a free-kick.

There was only one goal between the sides at half-time, but Cato doubled the lead with an overhead kick and a misplaced back-pass made it 3-0.

Stuart Leddy then scored direct from a corner and Aaron Burt volleyed home the fifth before Rising Sun got a consolation as Josh Harper headed into his own net.

Kye Theodore scored four goals but ended up on the losing side as Tadley Calleva A lost 7-6 at home to Sherborne St John.

Theodore opened the scoring but an own-goal and Jabus Moore's strike helped Sherborne to take a 3-1 lead, only for Lee Champion and Stephen Burgess to level the game before half-time.

Theodore completed his hat-trick with two goals early in the second half to make it 5-3, but Alex Izzo then bagged a hat-trick for Sherborne put the visitors ahead.

Theodore's fourth goal came from the penalty spot and levelled the game at 6-6, but Sherborne were awarded a spot-kick of their own in added time and Declan Shuttleworth converted to give them the points.
