WELLY Old Boys’ problems continue, with the club only able to field nine men for their Basingstoke and District Saturday League Premier Division match against Hook.
The depleted team took a shock lead through Tom Roworth, but Hook stormed back to lead 3-1 at the break before completing a 7-2 victory.
Andy Parker scored five for Hook, with Peter Pike and Dave White their other scorers. Jenkins netted a late consolation for Welly.
Basingstoke Athletic moved to the top of Division Two with an 8-1 victory over Herriard Sports.
Matt Button, Dale Bristow and Ryan Evans had Athletic three up before Karl Buttle pulled one back for Herriard prior to the break.
Button and Bristow completed their hat-tricks after half-time, with Evans getting his second as well.
Basingstoke United are up to second after beating Sherborne St John Reserves 2-0.
Nick Coombs went close for visiting Sherborne before Ash Pearce and Danny Southgate won the game for United.
