WELLY Old Boys' difficult start to the Basingstoke and District Saturday League Premier Division season continued as they were beaten 12-1 by Rising Sun DC.
Former Welly striker Ben Nicholls came back to haunt his old club, scoring four goals, while Lee Chambers bagged a brace and Ben Vine, Sam Nicholls, Jamie Ballantyne, Josh Flanagan, Richie Kalwarczyk and Gordon Birch also found the net. Welly manager Graham Jenkins was his side's lone scorer.
Hook had a comfortable 3-0 win away to Sherborne St John. Andy Parker opened the scoring after 33 minutes, Dan Mellors doubled the lead after the break and Parker then got his second after good play by Aaron King.
Basingstoke Royals enjoyed an impressive 4-0 victory over Tadley Calleva A. Steven Price scored the only goal of the first half, while James McIntosh scored twice after the break and Nick Willcock added a fourth.
