NEWLY promoted Hampshire Irons won again in the Basingstoke and District Division One, this time at Overton United A 3 They took the lead on 25 minutes as Jay Greene’s cross was converted by Michael Wood.

Overton equalised through Sylvani Thomas, but Irons soon regained the lead when Kieran Dent ran through and beat the goalkeeper one-on-one.

Chris Dobbie curled in the next to make it 3-1, following a good ball from Craig Hopper and Overton got their second from Charlie Hart.

Although DJS Telecoms managed a 3-1 win against Twentyten, it was a well contested game with the woodwork saving both teams at times.

Carl Pearson scored for Twentyten, but five minutes later Ashley Elward levelled the scores.

Jordon Wainwright hit the bar for Twentyten before Lee Neal gave DJS a 2-1 interval lead.

On the hour, Neal made it 3-1 from Nick Saunders’ cross, before Wainwright hit the woodwork again.

North Warnborough went down 2-0 to visiting Hook Reserves.

Hook took their lead after an hour from Jack McKee’s penalty and 10 minutes from time Sean Eccott scored their second.
