GIANT-KILLING is on the minds of Hartley Wintney this weekend, as they head south to face Southern League outfit Gosport Borough in the FA Cup.
It will be a welcome break for the village side after two Combined Counties League defeats.
Manager Mike Scott said: "We know they are a quality team, but we go down there with nothing to lose and determined to put on a good show."
Should the tie end in a draw, Hartley will host the replay on Tuesday night (7.45pm).
Last Monday in the league, Hartley returned from local rivals Sandhurst 4-3 losers.
After going behind, a goal from Martin Williams and a super 25-yarder from David Blake gave the visitors a 2-1 lead at half-time.
Before Blake scored his second, his side conceded twice more and then Sandhurst struck the winner.
Last Saturday, it was a similar story at home to Bedfont, but this time they lost 3-2.
The home side led 1-0 but the visitors were reduced to 10 men and battled back to win.
Nick McMahon put Hartley in front, but 10-men Bedfont hit back to lead 3-1 before Alex Pickering netted a late consolation.
Scott said: "We cannot afford to keep conceding so many goals. When you score three away from home you should be winning the game.
"We played better against Sandhurst on Monday after Saturday's abysmal showing at home to Bed-font. We now have to do better."
