BASINGSTOKE Town conceded three goals in the space of eight second half minutes on their way to a 5-1 defeat away at Hampshire rivals Havant and Waterlooville on Monday.
Leading thanks to Matt Gray's first half effort, Brett Poate took advantage of a defensive lapse to double Havant's lead in the 52nd minute.
This was followed a minute later by the home side's third, Luke Nightingale slotting home from the penalty spot after Jason Bristow was adjudged to have fouled Poate, and a terrible mistake by Town 'keeper Ross Kitteridge allowed Jamie Collins to make it four on the hour.
Substitute Charlie Henry struck with a fine effort late on, while Basingstoke sub Phil Ruggles headed home a consolation goal deep into stoppage time.
