REPUBLIC of Chineham have been left to fly the local flag in the Kelvin Cup after last Sunday’s quarter-final ties.
Chineham made the last four after winning 4-1 away at Hurstbourne Tarrant.
The home side scored first, but Sam O’Brien and Tyrone Aldridge shared the goals to earn Chineham a semi-final tie at home to Thruxton a week on Sunday.
Elsewhere in the same competition, Mars Drinks fielded a depleted side due to injuries as they visited the redoubtable Southampton Arms and lost 2-1 with the consolation goal coming from Daniel Dedman.
AC Marstons went down 3-1 on their travels to last year’s runners-up Thruxton.
Basingstoke Sports and Social fell behind to a penalty from visitors Folly Inn after 13 minutes.
After the break, they suffered a further setback in the shape of an own goal, but then Sports and Social converted their own penalty thanks to Andrew Darmody.
Andrew Butler then conjured up an equaliser and they then went looking for the winner, but were undone by a breakaway goal from Folly Inn.
