DIVISION one Tron held out for 114 minutes against premier division opponents Basingstoke Royals but it was all in vain as Stephen Horton’s winner booked his side a place in the last four of the Basingstoke A Cup.
Royals did have a lot of the first half play and only some excellent saves from Jason Charles kept them out. Richard Munday in the Royals goal did well to stop Tron taking the lead on 80 minutes when Wayne Barlow put Chris Laversher through and he saved one-on-one.
The decider came in extra-time when Craig Barker, who excelled in the Royals midfield, hit a fine shot that Holland could only half save with his legs and Horton followed up to net the rebound.
