BASINGSTOKE Town drew 0-0 away at Alton Town in their latest pre-season friendly on Tuesday night.
Frank Gray’s men played some nice stuff in midfield throughout but lacked a cutting edge in the final third.
They did have the better chances though, David Pratt, Nathan Smart and Matt Finlay all testing Alton ’keeper Craig Atkinson in the first half.
Alton hit the cross-bar through Paul Preston early in the second period, Pratt and Grant Powell both going close, but they could not find the back of the net.
