GEOFF Yates is looking forward to getting down to business after agreeing to join the Basingstoke Town board of directors.
Yates was already working as the club’s matchday administrator and his new role as ‘director responsible for operations’ will expand this – with his duties including looking after the ground and organising the stewards.
He said: “I am ever so pleased to be on board and am looking forward to getting on with the job. I am excited about working with the other board members, who are the best bunch I have come across during my time in football.”
Yates has previously been secretary at Salisbury City and director of football and vice-chairman at Andover.
“I have plenty of experience working at football clubs and am a good organiser,” he added. “I like to get on with things and get the job done.”
Yates’s appointment takes the number of directors at the Camrose to six and he joins chairman Rafi Razzak, vice-chairman Ian Halloway, Paul Carney, Sarah Parsons and David Partridge in the boardroom.
