BASINGSTOKE Strikers had a great day out at Wembley as the team watched the finals of both the FA Vase and FA Trophy.

The disabled football team were using the trip to give themselves inspiration ahead of their own tournament, which takes place in at the War Memorial Park on Sunday August 5.

The boys were able to cheer on Thatcham to victory and then after a break returned to watch Brackley take on Bromley, who beat Hartley Wintney on their way to Wembley.

A thrilling game was decided in the end by penalties with Brackley taking the trophy.

The trip was possible thanks to funds raised at their annual tournament, and this year's one takes place once again at the War Memorial Park on Sunday August 5.

The Strikers have been beaten semi-finalists in the past two years, so will be hoping it is third time this time around.

The club are also holding a fund raising race night on Saturday June 16, at the Westside Community Centre, South Ham.

Tickets are £6.50 and this includes a fish and chip supper.
