READING FC made it four games unbeaten with a 3-1 win away at Sunderland on Saturday.

Welsh international David Edwards opened the scoring in the second half at the Stadium of Light with his second goal in as many games before Modou Barrow struck twice in three minutes.

Ex-Royal Lewis Grabban grabbed a consolation from the penalty spot for the 10-man Black Cats who lost Callum McManaman for two bookable offences.

The win moved Reading up to 14th and they face second-placed Cardiff City on Monday night in front of the Sky cameras.

The Royals also drew an away tie in the FA Cup third round draw on Monday evening, with a trip to Stevenage Borough FC on the first weekend of January.
