GIANTKILLERS Hartley Wintney will be looking to take another scalp in the FA Trophy a week on Saturday.

Division One Row marched into the third qualifying round in their first ever year in the competition, thanks to a 3-0 thrashing of the of visiting Premier side Gosport Borough.

Josh Webb scored a brace and Paul Hodges netted as Hartley made more history.

However, the Row will have to wait to see who they play, as Tuesday night’s replay between Premier rivals Banbury and Farnborough did not start, after some of the Hampshire side’s players failed to get to the ground.

Joint manager Daniel Brownlie said: “Either way whoever we play, it’ll be a great day for the club, they’re both good sides with an abundance of quality.

“Needless to say our fans love an away day, even if it is just down the road to Farnborough."

Before Hartley can focus on another giant-killing they are back in league action on Saturday with a home game against Cambridge City. The Row are very much in the promotion hunt and are fourth at the moment, while Cambridge are second.

On Tuesday night, a much changed Hartley side lost 2-1 to Marlow in the League Cup as Michael Buck scored their goal.

Brownlie said: “It is a big game on Saturday against Cambridge so we need to focus on that. Tuesday night was a good opportunity to give a few players minutes and some put in performances that put them in contention for the squad. We’ve a good squad down here, everyone is going to be needed with so many big games coming up - we want to ensure we keep getting stronger.”
