THE Basingstoke and District Saturday and Sunday Leagues kick-off their new seasons this weekend.
The stand out game on Saturday is in Division One at Barlow’s Park, where the champions Hook takes on Tadley Calleva.
In Division Two, relegated Basingstoke Athletic appear to have a stronger side and look strong challengers for a quick return. They will play Twentyten Reserves at Stratton Park in their opening game.
The renamed Sherborne Saints also look to be strong contenders and they face newcomers Somesay FC.
All clubs are reminded they must phone in their results and a short report for their matches to Peter Raynbird on (01256) 464621 before 9 pm on the day of the match.
Likewise Sunday clubs must phone Tony Spencer on (01252) 409041 before 3 pm.
Fines are imposed for non compliance.
