BASINGSTOKE Town Community Club have identified the full extent of the funding challenge for this season.
Treasurer Peter George-Jones said: “A minimum of £23,000 to support the players’ budget needed to be found. The club have launched a number of schemes to boost the players’ budget to retain and recruit players to compete in the Southern League Premier level."
Community Club Chairman, Steve Letch said: “We have had a good response from a number of quarters , including player kit sponsorship and Community Club memberships, but it is important that everyone understands the challenge. As well as one off or regular donations, we are launching a 200 plus club.
"This involves a standing order commitment of £10 a month which gives five numbers in a monthly draw and up to £1,000 a month in prize money."
