THE Basingstoke Strikers Disabled Football’s annual tournament takes place on Saturday, August 5 at The War Memorial Park, near Crossborough Hill.

As well as the tournament for the young adults with special needs, this year there will also be a fund raising tournament for able-bodied adults to participate in for a trophy.

This will be a cost of £100 for a team to enter in a seven-a-side competition.

The matches in both events will be run from 10am to 4pm and all are welcome to attend, as this is the club’s major fund raiser of the year.

Running alongside the tournaments will be a family fun day with various stalls, face painting, BBQ and refreshments.

Last year, it proved to be a great success with teams from Bournemouth and Portsmouth attending.

The Basingstoke side did really well on the field and just missed out as they reached the semi-finals in what is an important fund raiser The Strikers are also appealing for anyone who is able to supply them with goal posts that they could use for the tournament. These would preferably be 12 ft x 6ft.

If anyone can help, please contact The strikers via their facebook page, The OFFICIAL Basingstoke Strikers.
