BASINGSTOKE Town steps to become a community owned club will take another big step at at the club’s fan forum, which will take place at the Camrose on June 27.

Having announced this was the way the Town wanted to go earlier in the year, the club want to start the process later this month.

This will be with the help of the independent experts Supporters Direct.

This will of course not happen overnight and will need a lot of work from a lot of people.

The first three key objectives will be a readiness to take ownership of the club, securing a future home ground for the club and to urgently raise much needed funds through a range of activities.

This is because Rafi Razzak, owner of Basingstoke Town Limited has pulled the funding for the team for the start of this season and he also wants to sell the Camrose ground to develop the site.

The current thinking from the last Interim Management Group at the club, is to have a separate community owned club bank account to boost the playing budget for manager Terry Brown.

So the club are urging as many people as possible to come along to the meeting to discuss the future of Basingstoke Town.

There will also be a critical public meeting with the relevant council committee on July 19.
