BASINGSTOKE Strikers disabled football team had a great day out at Wembley.

The team travelled to the home of football to watch the non-league showpiece – the FA Trophy final.

They picked a real thriller for their first club outing and enjoyed the occasion as part of the 24,000 plus crowd.

Macclesfield Town left Wembley with the trophy thanks to 3-2 win over York City.

This was thanks to Aidan Connolly’s 86th-minute winner.

The trip for the team was made possible thanks to some super fundraising last season.

This was thanks a very successful race night and also the club’s first ever tournament and fun day, which was held in the War Memorial Park.

The club will be holding their second tournament at the same War Memorial Park venue on Saturday, August 5.

Last year they lost in a thrilling semi-final 3-2 and ended up finishing fourth overall in a event which attracted teams from right across the south of England.

The club will also be holding another race night at the Westside Community Centre in South Ham on Friday June 23 from 7.30pm.

All are welcome and the tickets are priced at £6.50 and this includes a fish and chip supper.
