TIDWORTH Town won the Kelvin Cup final thanks to a 2-1 win over Nether Wallop.

Tidworth started out the sharpest on the two sides, having height advantage and substitutes to spare, while Nether Wallop brought a bare fit 11 to play the whole game.

It was Wallop that had the first chances, Jackson Cunha Da Silva half-volleyed a cross at the goalkeeper on seven minutes.

Then 10 minutes later, after Lock was a free kick, Da Silva had a one-on-one with the goalkeeper saving on the floor.

Then Spencer missed shot as Tidworth were on the back foot, with Cairney booked for persistent fouling on 20 minutes.

The booking settled Tidworth and Sowe struck the post from the left.

On 37 minutes Da Silva was flattened, and Lawton's free kick found Da Silva, who headed in.

After half-time Da Silva found Lock and his shot was saved, while at the other end Sowe squandered a chance.

Six minutes into the second half and Da Silva shot straight at the goalkeeper.

On the hour, Tidworth's Cairney shaved the right hand post, before Robbie Owen's effort went wide of the other post.

Sowe was booked for a foul on Readman. Tidworth were turning the screw, with Wallop hanging on but tiring.

On 79 minutes Cairney's efforts were rewarded with a headed goal following a corner and only three minutes later when Mike Owen the Tidworth skipper fired an unstoppable winner from distance, earning him the man of the match award.
