BRETT Denham took his tally to 30 goals for the season as the Tadley Calleva score in this side’s final game of the season a 3-2 victory at Laverstock and Ford.

Denham finished third in the Wessex Division One sharp shooters with Baffins’ Ryan Pennery coming out on top with 39 ahead of Hamble’s Dougie Rowe with 32.

Denham scored Tadley’s second goal after the interval after a nice set-up by George Hallahan.

Hallahan gave the visitor’s the lead in the first half, after he finished a nice move involving Denham and Cameron George.

After Denham doubled the advantage, the home side pulled a goal back, before Hallahan with his second restored the two goal lead.

With eight minutes left, Laverstock were awarded a penalty, which Tom Hindmarsh saved, but the home side netted the rebound.

However, this was the final goal of the game as Tadley finished seventh in the table on 68 points winning exactly half of their games.

Tadley manager Danny Dolan said: “It has been a tough league this season and all three new to the division have been promoted. We will now look to build on our squad and go again next season.”

This will include a game against local rivals Whitchurch United, who were relegated last Saturday, after they lost 5-0 at Hamworthy.

The Jam Boys finished 21 out of 22 teams in the Wessex League Premier Division, after Fawley won their final game to secure 20th place, but they also went down along with Verwood Town.
