BASINGSTOKE Town manager Terry Brown is looking for his side to take three points from Saturday’s home game against Stratford.

The Dragons have enjoyed two excellent cup wins since their last league outing, with their success being 3-0 at Dorchester in the FA Trophy last Saturday.

This earned Town a trip to Conference South side Bath City, a week on Saturday for a third qualifying round tie.

Brown said: “With only one league game in the next two Saturdays. It is important we get some points against Stratford in our quest to climb table.”

When these sides met in the first month of the season honours were even in a 1-1 draw. The Dragons are currently 12th in the table with their visiting rivals two places below them.

Once again Town have a few injuries ahead of the game, with midfielder general Charlie Kennedy and livewire striker Aaron Jarvis suffering dead legs in Dorchester and both are doubtful for Saturday's game.

This has been the Dragons’ curse all season and Brown said: “I think this is natures way of rotating the squad, but as yet I have never had a full 20 man squad to pick from. I am sure this will change come the second half of the season.”

He is hopeful midfielder George Bennett will be fit for the game with Stratford and Ashleigh Antwell will be back for the Bath game.

Brown watched Town’s FA Trophy opponents this week and said: “They are good side and impressed me, but they are beatable. It is a great draw for the boys and the chance to prove themselves against higher league opposition.”
