BASINGSTOKE Town Ladies came from a goal down, to book their place in the fourth qualifying round of the FA Cup with 2-1 victory at Billericay.

A goal line clearance from Michelle Kimber denied the home side a goal after 15 minutes and then Town went close as Lauren Butler's shot was cleared off the line.

After the break, the ladies were unlucky to concede after 51 minutes from 25 yards out.

Then soon after, Town's goalkeeper Erin Davis-Donne produced a great reaction save to keep them in the game.

Helen Ogle then saw her shot hit the post, before the visitors equalised just before the hour, as Josette Pearmine's through ball Butler saw her curl it into the top corner from the edge of the box.

Town struck again with 20 minutes, as Katie Randell showed great skill to get past their defender to the dead ball line and cut the ball back for Pearmine to score the winner at the near post.

Manager Rob Quilter said: "The squad showed great character to come back from 1-0. We controlled the second half and were unlucky to go behind."

The Ladies reward for the victory is an away tie in the next round at Plymouth Argyle on November 13.

This weekend, Town are at home to Chichester City on Sunday (2pm) in the League Cup.

Last Wednesday, in their latest Premier League South West Division One, they drew with visiting Maidenhead 2-2.

The home side fell behind after 12 minutes, but by half-time it was level, after Pearmine dribbled past two defenders into the area and shot. It was saved and Randell tapped in.

On the hour mark, Town twice hit the post from Randell and Lindsey Beverley.

Maidenhead re-took the lead after 67 minutes, but the home side made sure of a sure of the spoils when Randell put Beverley through who squared the ball for Helen Ogle to score.

# Basingstoke Town Ladies Reserves pulled off their best result of the season so far as they beat Gosport Town Ladies 4-1.

Jess Dry scoring her debut goal which was followed by an amazing save from Georgia Payne which kept the scores level at half time 1-1.

After the break, star striker Billie Gardner produced a second-half hat-trick to make sure of the win.

A special mention should go to Kelly Nash, Beth Swaddling and Shannon King. who had to play out of position to help the team to this convincing win, in what was a great team performance.
