BASINGSTOKE Royals lead the way in the Basingstoke and District League Division One by two points following a 1-1 draw with DC UK.

In the 15th minute a long clearance from DC goalkeeper Darren Collins, had centre back Richard Willcock in trouble and Stuart Austen took advantage to score with a powerful volley.

The equaliser came on 80 minutes after Ama Bhuller's pull back was fired in by Craig Barker.

Hook suffered a rare defeat as they were beat 2-1 at home by Twentyten.

The visitors took the lead from James Arnold and after the break Danny Vallance hit the post for Twentyten before they doubled their advantage after 70 minutes.

Good play by Joe Osborne and Vallance led to a one-two with Arnold, who scored his second.

Hook lone reply came from substitute James Westwood's superb volley from Morgan Davies' cross.

Pointless Basingstoke Athletic stay bottom after they were beaten 1-0 by AFC Aldermaston Reserves.

Athletic looked on top for much of the first half, but could not finish off, their beat effort coming from Kieran Challis.

Aldermaston went in front after 56 minutes when Scott Perkins assisted by Steve Francis, beat new goalkeeper James Kelly.

The goalkeeper then tipped over a goal bound shot from Matt Rayner over the bar, before Aldermaston shot stopper Matt Desay made a fine save in the last minute.

Previous leaders Basingstoke United lost 4-0 away to Tadley Calleva A, as Stephen Burgess opened the scoring in the fourth minute.

On the 15 minute mark, Burgess was fouled just outside the box and Kye Theodore bent the free-kick around the wall for a two goal advantage.

Just before half time, Tadley made it 3-0 as Luke Alliston's centre was flicked on by Michael Abbott and finished off by Theodore.

United improved after this and twice hit the woodwork through Tom Hartley and Reese Chapman.

It was all in vane as Theodore completed his hat-trick. United has a chance of revenge this week when the two meet in the North Hants May Cup
