BASINGSTOKE Town Ladies booked their place in the next round of the Women's Premier League Cup with an excellent 3-0 win over visiting Cheltenham Town Ladies.

The home side took the lead after 20 minutes when a cross was flicked on by Emma Lawrence and volleyed into the roof of the net by Katie Randell.

Town Ladies doubled their advantage by the break as Helen Ogle curled in a free-kick to the back post, which was bundled over the line by Josette Pearmine.

The home side made the game safe on 55 minutes when Randell held up the ball well and put a well weighted through ball to Ogle.

She dribbled the ball from the half way line before placing the ball past the visiting goalkeeper.

Manager Robert Quilter said: "The game went well. We controlled the tempo of the game and took our goals well. It was nice to get our first win which should give the girls confidence going into next week."

Tomorrow (2pm) again at the Ark Cancer Charity Stadium, the Ladies return to league action and will hope to complete a quick double over visiting Cheltenham as they travel to Basingstoke again.
