BASINGSTOKE Town have been given a home tie in the first qualifying round of the FA Cup against either Amesbury Town or Bemerton Heath Harlequins.

The two Wessex League Premier Division sides will play this Saturday to decide who will travel to the Ark Cancer Charity Stadium on Saturday September 3.

Amesbury boss Jim Macey is a former manager of Whitchurch United and guided them into the premier, so he is sure to want a chance to take on Basingstoke Town with his newly promoted chargers who include former Basingstoke Town player Grant Powell.

Before focussing on the FA Cup the Dragons will be hope to build on their draw at Stratford Town on Saturday when they face Hayes and Yeading this evening (7.45pm) at home.

Included in the Hayes squad are former Town players Louie Wells, James Harper and Lloyd Macklin.

The London side are 16th in the table, having won once in the first games and like Town were relegated from the National League South last season.
