THE Annual General Meeting of the Basingstoke and District Football League saw big changes in the officers of the Saturday section.

With the resignations due to work commitments of Iain Peach (fixture secretary), Darren Hutchins (match and registration secretary) and Tessa Ticehurst (league secretary).

It was agreed Wayne Chivers would take over as both Saturday and Sunday fixture secretary and Alan Blenkarn will do the same for match and registration secretary. Alan Spacagna is the new Saturday secretary.

General secretary of the league June Balcombe, along with Bramley's long serving chairman George Wood both received the North Hants Football Association for over 21 years service to football.

Kevin Hill the Chineham Hon. Secretary had received his award at the North Hants AGM.

President Peter Raynbird presented the Saturday League Sportsmanship Cup to TDI Group's Graham Jenkins, as his side won for the second year running. The Sunday League Sportsmanship Cup was won by Soldiers Return Reserves.

The top linesman’s Shield for Saturday teams went to Sherborne St John, while Oakley FC won the Sunday award.

The Gerald Merritt Award for the most improved class seven referee was won by Olu Oyewole.

The start of the season will be the weekend of September 3 and 4 and it is hoped all fixtures will be completed by Sunday May 10. There will be games on the Christmas and New Year Day's weekend.

The Basingstoke and District Saturday League have two divisions as last season. There are nine teams in Division One after DJS Telecoms, Tron, Overton United A and Sherborne St John withdrew. On plus side Basingstoke Royals have joined from the Sunday League, AFC Aldermaston Reserve from the Reading League and new club DCUK So the full line-up is Hook, Tadley Calleva A, Twenty Ten, AFC Aldermaston Res, Basingstoke Athletic, Basingstoke United, Bounty United, Basingstoke Royals and DCUK.

Division Two now has 10 teams after three teams Basingstoke Athletic Res, TDI Group and Hampshire Irons left, but joining are Longdog Soldiers, Origin, Chineham and Twenty Ten Reserves.

The full Division Two line-up is Labour Club, Herriard Sports, AFC Aldermaston A, Overton United B, Winklebury Wizards, AFC Berg, Twenty Ten Res, Chineham, Longdog Soldiers and Origin.

The Basingstoke and District Sunday League will operate again with three divisions as last season. There will be seven in division one after Revolution withdrew. Eight in division two and 10 in Division Three.

The formation is as follows; Division One: Affine Technology, FC Basing, Husaria (new club), Oakley, Republic of Chineham, Soldiers Return, Tron.

Division Two: AFC Soldiers (formerly FC Benidorm of Stoke), Basingstoke Saints, Bramley United, Chineham, Eastrop Eagles, Hampshire Irons, North Warnborough, UWS. FC.

Division Three: Camrose Social, Chineham Athletic, Chineham Res, DG Athletic, North Warnborough Res, Overton United (new club), Soldiers Return Reserves, RAF Odiham Blades (new club), Team FC and TRS FC (new club).
