BASINGSTOKE Town manager Terry Brown is close to announcing his first signing for next season, which the Dragons now know will be in the Southern League Premier Division.

Brown at the moment is putting all his time into securing the experienced players, which will form the spine of this side, and said: "It is important I get the right senior players, before I start to sign the youngsters. I hope to have some news by the end of the week if all goes well."

Town will be holding another trial game on Wednesday for young players, as they look to build towards their first campaign in the Southern League.
