TRON completed a magnificent treble with victory in the Hampshire Junior B Cup as they beat Isle of Wight side Kyngs Towne 6-1.

It has been a superb season for Darren Hutchins' side as they added their latest trophy to the Peter Raynbird Cup and Basingstoke and District League Division Two title.

After the game, Hutchins said: "It was an excellent all round team performance, with all contributing and played in the right spirit, when after building up a two goal interval never looked like losing."

Attacking from the start Ben Nicholls forced a good save early on and Sam Nicholls hit the bar before they took the lead after 27 minutes.

It came from a penalty after Ben Nicholls had been brought down and he converted the spot kick.

After 30 minutes, Stuart Austen had a good effort cleared off the line and Ewan Westwood, the only Tron player left in the squad that won the Hampshire Junior A Cup four years ago, brought about the second goal.

His far post cross was headed down by Richard Kalwarczyk to Totu Sotonye who put away the loose ball.

Just two minutes into the second half the Islanders made it 2-1. The shot looked to be covered by goalkeeper Kevin Beaumont, but hit the knee of Jamie Ballantyne and deflected past him for an own goal.

Within a minute, Tron had restored their two goal advantage as Sam Nicholls and Gordon Birch combined for Sotonye to score his second.

Tron added a fourth goal in the 56th minute, as Ross Harwood, raiding down the left flank, crossed to Ballantyne and a quick one-two led to Lorne Howard scoring from 10 yards out.

Howard added a fifth after inter passing between Sam Nicholls and Austen. The final goal came when Hutchins, on as sub, played the ball through to Ben Nicholls, his pass led to another substitute Mikey Thomas cheekily chipping over a defender and converting with a side footed volley.

It was a fitting end to an excellent performance by the Basingstoke side.

The winning Tron team was Kevin Beaumont, Ewan Westwood, Ross Harwood, Gordon Birch, Stuart Austen, Sam Nicholls, Jamie Ballantyne, Totu Sotonye, Lorne Howard, Richard Kalwarczyk, Ben Nicholls. Subs used. Darren Hutchins, Mikey Thomas, Duncan Leahy.
