BASINGSTOKE Town will play in the Southern League Premier Division, after the FA finalised the league formation.
Dragons’ boss Terry Brown is delighted with the news, as this was always his preferred choice instead of the Isthmian League.
Hayes and Yeading also relegated from National League South will join Town in the Southern League, while Havant and Waterlooville have been relegated into the Isthmian League.
The full make-up of the Southern League Premier Division is Banbury United, Basingstoke Town, Biggleswade Town, Cambridge City, Chesham United, Chippenham Town, Cinderford Town, Cirencester Town, Dorchester Town, Frome Town, Hayes and Yeading, Hitchin Town, Kettering Town, Kings Langley, Leamington, Merthyr Town, Redditch United, Slough Town, St Ives Town, St Neots Town, Stratford Town and Weymouth.
The first game of the campaign will be on Saturday August 6 and the final one is on April 22.
In other Town news, striker Chris Flood will remain in the National League South next season, after he signed for Gosport Borough.
