JAMES Tennant scored five times as Tadley Calleva set a new club record for the Wessex League with a 9-0 home victory over Pewsey Vale.

The visitors took just 10 seconds to open the scoring as Tennant converted a cross from Sam Hamilton.

Pewsey then so nearly equalised, but Tom Hindmarsh produced a great stop and Tadley went straight up the other end and made it 2-0. By half-time it was 5-0, as Tennant having scored a first-half hat-trick.

The goals kept coming after the break, as Tennant took his tally to five and Sam Hamilton and Scott Kinge both ended the game with braces.

Last Wednesday, Tennant scored a brace as they earned a very good 2-2 draw at Christchurch.

Looking back on his side's last two games Tadley manager Danny Dolan said: "Getting a draw at Christchurch was a great result as that is a tough place to go. Against Pewsey it was one of those game where everything we touched went in."

Tomorrow night, Tadley are at home to Andover New Street and then on Saturday they entertain East Cowes Vics.
