AFC ALDERMASTON beat the weather and looked on their way to victory over visiting Hurst in the Thames Valley League Premier Division, but in the end had to settle for a 2-2 draw.
The home side took the lead in the opening 45 minutes, as Lee Wheeler's cross-cum-shot which beat the visiting goalkeeper in the wind.
Aldermaston doubled their lead as Michael Porter's header found the bottom corner.
Hurst pulled a goal back just before half time This was despite an initial brilliant save by Kevin Butcher, but the rebound fell to a Hurst attacker who slotted in.
Late on in the game, a shot from a visiting player from 25-yards out, went in off the post to make the final score 2-2.
This weekend, Aldermaston take a break from league action, as they entertain Woodcote Stoke Row in the Berks Open Cup. The sides met in the league last month at Aldermaston, when honours were even in a 2-2 draw.
