READING cruised into the fifth round of the FA Cup thanks to a 4-0 win over League One Walsall at the Madejski Stadium.

This made sure that for the fifth time in seven years, the Royals reached the fifth round and last season they got as far as the semi-finals before losing to Arsenal.

Reading took the lead in this cup tie after 37 minutes, as Hal Robson-Kanu lost his marker and fired into the roof of the net.

The Championship side doubled their lead three minutes later, as Matej Vydra bundled in Stephen Quinn's cross.

After the break, the Saddlers' Romaine Sawyers and Royals ' Oliver Norwood both hit the bar.

Danny Williams added a third goal for the home side after 75 minutes and then just before time Vydra headed in his second and Reading's fourth.

Reading will find out their fifth round opponents this evening after the Milton Keynes Dons’ game with Chelsea.

The Royals are next in action on Tuesday night when they travel to Ipswich in the Championship.
