WHEATSHEAF knocked out Andover League's Broughton 2-0, to earn a place in the North Hants Senior Cup semi-finals last Sunday, writes TONY SPENCER.

Carlos Gonzalez buried an early penalty, after Ashley Elward was brought down in the box. Daniel Dedman then scored the second with a shot that cannoned in off the crossbar.

In the other tie, Basingstoke Royals were beaten 3-2 at Andover Sports.

Chineham lost their North Hants Chris Price Cup quarter-final 2-1, despite a goal from James Hanley. Revolution replied from Sam Cato and Nathan Duncombe.

Hampshire Irons rued missed chances in the first half against Nether Wallop, as the visitors led 4-0 at the break.

Shortly after the restart, Wallop netted a fifth, before Terry Lock's pass was converted by Simon Head, his first goal for the club, which got Irons off the mark.

Mike Pemberton was then fouled and Jack Miller scored the resulting free-kick, but Wallop scored again to win 6-2.

Affini Technology lost at Winchester Division One side Worthies Sports and Social 5-1.

North Warnborough Reserves booked their place in the semi-finals of the North Hants John Ward Cup with a 6-1 win over Andover Division Three side SParTEN Reserves. Alex Jeffers banged in four goals and Sean Delfosse netted the other two.

Oliver Lacey scored a hat-trick, including a penalty as FC Basing achieved a Basingstoke and District League Division One league double over Basingstoke Saints thanks to a 4-1 win. Saints admitted it was a good game, and felt unlucky to be 3-1 down at half-time, but in the end it was fair result. Jack Hulbert netted the fourth for Basing.

Dan Bloma scored a penalty early on for Oakley, but the Republic of Chineham soon equalised from a free-kick in a 1-1 draw.

Freddie Cloke scored for Soldiers Return's after just 14 seconds against Dayers Fine Foods, from a long punt straight from the kick off. This is how it stayed until the second-half, when Soldiers added three more goals from Cobi Judd, either side of a Stuart Cubbage strike. The win moved then into pole position in the division, ahead of Basingstoke Royals.

In Division Two, Bramley United beat North Warnborough 6-2, after it was level 1-1 at the break. The Bramley goals came from Stuart Leddy, Colin Bell, and sub Adam Bartlett, after Nick Harris scored the club's goal of the season from 30 yards.

UWS triumphed 5-4 over Eastrop Eagles, despite the visitors' efforts. Bobbi Frost netting a pair of headers, Charlie Coughlan scored with an unbelievable strike and Dan Davies tapped in.

At the bottom end of Division Three, Basingstoke Saints Reserves suffered a 15-0 defeat against FC Benidorm of Stoke, although the youngsters kept going to the bitter end.

Taylor Watts (7), Luke Taylor (4), Adam Bowden, Tom Langley, Tom Green and an own goal made up the goals.

A hat-trick from Joe Marsh helped Chineham Reserves beat rivals Chineham Athletic 5-2, which gave the visitors a league double. James Vent and Ben Owen scored Athletic's goals, with the remaining Reserves' strikes coming from Robert Stait and Russell Smith.

Soldiers Return Reserves took a three-goal lead in the first half against DG Athletic, thanks to Matt Kelly and a brace from Tom Hartley.

Ten minutes into the second half, Jamie Lucas added a fourth, before two late goals from DG were scored by Paul Ralph.
