TADLEY Calleva made the third round of the FA Vase for the first time in the club's history, thanks to a 4-0 home victory over Haywards Heath Town.

The Sussex League side started the game as favourites and forced Tadley goalkeeper Tom Hindmarsh into a couple of early saves.

The home side then took the lead after 30 minutes, as James Milford's corner was met by Scott Kinge's head.

The advantage was doubled before the break, as man of the match James Tennant cut in from the left and scored from 25 yards out.

With the central defenders Spencer Barlow and Andrew Charsley keeping their big physical visitors at bay it remained 2-0 at the break.

After the interval, the home side scored a third goal after 70 minutes as Tennant netted his second of the game with another 25-yard strike.

Tadley left their best goal to last as Nick Kingston scored with an overhead kick to complete the 4-0 victory.

Manager Danny Dolan was delighted with the win and said: "It was really good team performance and it is a massive achievement for a club at this level to reach the third round of the Vase."
