HERRIARD Sports went top of the Basingstoke and District League Division Two, after a 4-1 win over visitors Overton United B.
The opening goal came after 49 minutes, when a mis-hit shot by Kyle Buckland that fell to Joe Holder, who beat goalkeeper Dave Burt to put Overton in front.
Only a good save by Purt stopped Buckland making it 2-0 soon after when he was through on goal.
Herriard drew level after 53 minutes as Stuart Minton scored from a 20 yard free-kick. A couple of injuries did not help Overton who fell behind with seven minutes left to play. Minton bending another 20 yard free-kick around the wall into the top corner.
Sam Weber headed in the flag kick from Matt Goodman to make it 3-1.
Minton completed his hat-trick with a final minute penalty. Basingstoke Athletic Reserves beat TDI Group 4-2 after Roman Vanik gave them a tenth minute lead, scoring from a tight angle. Richard Budd equalised, but Athletic made it 3-1, as Tom Strong scored and then a header from George Byrne from a Matt Dean free-kick. Still in the first half, TDI scored a second from Graham Jenkins and Dave Trevelion then added a fourth for Athletic.
