SHERBORNE St John sit on top of Basingstoke and District Saturday League Division One after making it three wins out of three with a 2-0 victory over Hook.

Hook were the better side in the first half, but Andy Parker missed their best chance and the hosts made them pay after the break.

Substitute Ronnie Tamale's 30-yard lob gave them the lead on 65 minutes and it was another sub, Sachin Rai, who set up the second for Ibraheem Waheed soon after.

Both sides hit the post in the closing stages, but while Hook pressed, Sherborne held on to claim all three points.

Peter White smashed in six goals as Tadley Calleva A thrashed Basingstoke Labour Club 9-1.

Dan Walkley opened the scoring after just three minutes, finishing Michael Abbott's cross, before Walkley turned provider as White doubled the lead.

White went on to complete his hat-trick before the break, before scoring three more in the second half. Dave Howard was the other Tadley scorer, while Mark West got Labour's lone reply after a Cameron George shot was fumbled by the goalkeeper.

Overton United A and TwentyTen played out a 2-2 draw.

Hosts Overton took the lead with 15 minutes on the clock, Matthew Bonner finding the net after good play from Myles Englefield.

TwentyTen replied 10 minutes later, Joe Osborne heading home Ryan Upton's cross to make it 1-1 at the break.

Overton regained the upper hand on 65 minutes, Joe Lake making the most of a poor back-pass, but Matt Talmage headed home Christian Cox's cross to earn the visitors a point.

TwentyTen almost snatched the win at the death, with Charlie Manning hitting the post and Frank Spacagna firing the rebound over the crossbar.

Hampshire Irons recovered from two goals down to claim a 2-2 draw away at Basingstoke Athletic.

Ryan Evans' shot from distance had Athletic ahead in the 10th minute, with Gavin Curry scoring an unfortunate own-goal to double the lead soon after.

Kieran Dent headed home Tom L’Heureux's criss to make it 2-1 at half-time, and Ben Haskins' speculative effort from halfway levelled the game after the break.
