WHITCHURCH United's poor start to the season took another turn for the worse as they were beaten 5-0 away at Bournemouth Poppies on Saturday.

The hosts scored twice in the first 10 minutes to take a grip on the game, but it took them until the final 20 minutes to sew up the points, adding a further three goals to complete the rout.

Whitchurch sit 20th in the Wessex League Premier Division table having taken just six points from their opening nine games.

They are in FA Vase action this weekend, but they will need a big reversal in fortunes to progress as Bournemouth Poppies will once again provide the opposition, though the game will be played at Longmeadow.
