BASINGSTOKE Town and Hartley Wintney have been handed difficult draws in the third qualifying round of the FA Cup.

Town will host either Ebbsfleet United or Chelmsford City, while Hartley Wintney face a tough trip to Eastbourne Borough.

Basingstoke earned their place in the third qualifying round with a 3-2 win over Slough Town, while Combined Counties League Premier Division side Hartley caused an upset by beating Southern League Premier outfit Merthyr Town 1-0.

The third qualifying round will be played on Saturday, October 10.

Town have been drawn at home to another National League South outfit. They will host Ebbsfleet or Chelmsford, who drew 0-0 in Essex on Saturday and will replay tomorrow night.

Hartley have also been drawn against National League South oppostition, making the trip to Eastbourne Borough.
