HATCH Warren Phoenix FC have a brand new team this season, with the under-10 Fire playing in the Peter Houseman Youth League.

They will be the first Hatch Warren side to wear the new Abacus Employment-sponsored matchday kit and every player will also be sporting a terrific training kit sponsored by local business Lawn Master.

Lawn Master proprietor Spencer Haines said: “The Phoenix have picked up quite a name for themselves over the last couple of seasons.

“When we heard through my football-mad son and his friends that the club was considering setting up an under-10 side, we enquired about sponsorship availability.

“It was not long before we realised how different to many grassroots football clubs the Phoenix are.

“The coaching, enthusiasm, passion and approach to the game, as well as the development of the children was evident from the outset.

“In the end, it was a simple decision for Lawn Master to sponsor the Fires training kit and we are extremely excited to see what the future brings.”

The Phoenix enjoyed a double success at the annual Oakley FC tournament.

The Flames and Blaze under-eight team were keen to continue their unbeaten streak after success during the previous week in Fleet.

They managed this as they commanded their games and scored many goals.

Their final game was a very exciting one against Andover.

Hatch Warren had a number of chances, but the goalkeeper produced a string of saves, while the crossbar and posts were also battered as they had to settle for a goalless draw.
