HARTLEY Wintney maintained their 100 per cent start to the season with a 3-1 win away at Colliers Wood United on Saturday.

Ross Cook opened the scoring after just 12 minutes, intercepting a pass and rounding the goalkeeper before slotting into the empty net.

The same player doubled the lead just three minutes later, beating a number of defenders and the goalkeeper to score.

Cook thought he had completed his hat-trick at the end of a flowing move, but the goal was ruled out for offside.

However, the visitors did go into half-time three goals up, Sam Argent firing into the roof of the net after playing a neat one-two with Shane Hollamby.

Sloppy defending allowed Colliers Wood to pull a goal back in the second half, but Hartley saw the game out to claim their fourth win at the start of the season and retain their position at the top of the Combined Counties League Premier Division table.

Daniel Brownlie's men will be hoping to extend their excellent start to the season tomorrow night, when they make the short trip to mid-table Cove.
